Rodrigo Santoro Joins IO Interactive as Missions Director for Project 007

Rodrigo Santoro has been appointed as the Missions Director for Project 007. Frederik Villumsen, Associate Production Director, praised Santoro’s critical thinking and enthusiasm, stating, “We look forward to seeing him make an impact as Missions Director, where he will balance story, art, and gameplay to design the most amazing Bond missions.”

Santoro began his career at Crytek in 2009, primarily working on the Crysis series. After more than five years, he joined Massive Entertainment and made significant contributions to Tom Clancy’s The Division, its sequel and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Over his nine-year tenure at Massive, he advanced from Senior Level Designer to World Director.

Santoro expressed his excitement about joining IO Interactive, saying, “I admire how the studio dares to innovate and create new memorable game experiences… I feel incredibly fortunate to work with the team making the game. Together, we aim to deliver the best 007 game ever made.”

His deep understanding of game mechanics and level design is essential for crafting challenging, narratively compelling missions. With his expertise in creating immersive environments, Santoro ensures that the missions are engaging and seamlessly integrated into the globe-spanning, intricate world characteristic of both the James Bond and Hitman franchises.
