With 007 First Light launching next week, IO Interactive is giving fans one more look at Bond’s world before players can finally explore its locations for themselves.
Over the past few weeks, the studio has shared 10 new official screenshots across social media. Many of the images revisit locations already shown in earlier trailers, gameplay reveals and preview coverage — though several screenshots still contain new details for fans to dissect.
The newly shared batch includes some of the game’s best-known locations so far. The Grand Carpathian chess tournament and the Webb Industries gala both became major talking points during the gameplay reveal and the later hands-on previews, showcasing the game’s blend of espionage, social stealth and luxury environments.
The screenshots also revisit locations that received more focus during the winter reveals, including Iceland and the mysterious black-market city of Aleph. Meanwhile, the MI6 training phase on Malta — including M’s office and the modern Q Department — became much more prominent following the Rules of Spycraft trailer, which introduced several gadgets and gameplay systems tied to Bond’s early career.

One of the more surprising screenshots takes us inside Bond’s modest flatshare apartment in London. Instead of the luxurious private residences often associated with the established 007 from the films, Bond appears to be sharing a comparatively ordinary London flat with roommates at this early stage of his MI6 career. According to preview articles, players can apparently discover bird books elsewhere inside the apartment — a subtle nod to ornithology. Ian Fleming famously borrowed the name “James Bond” from the American ornithologist who wrote the field guide Birds of the West Indies, meaning the apartment itself may quietly reference the real-world origin of the character’s name.

Another screenshot also appears to confirm my previous theory: 007 First Light seemingly features two different nightclub locations. One is the purple-lit club in Aleph, where DJ Dimitri Vegas is expected to appear. The newly highlighted blue nightclub, however, strongly resembles the location from the launch trailer where Bond gets into a violent fight while Chase & Status perform live in the background.

Finally, the screenshots once again return to Vietnam shortly after the location’s larger appearance in the launch trailer. The tropical hotel complex showcases enormous pool areas overlooking the coastline and further emphasizes the game’s luxurious resort atmosphere. In the distance, fans may even be able to spot what appears to be the hotel’s second pool deck with its distinctive wooden backdrop — potentially the same location where Bond later encounters the mysterious brunette woman in the red bikini.
Even before release, the new screenshots already highlight how strongly 007 First Light leans into the classic Bond fantasy of glamorous international travel. From Iceland’s rugged cliffs and luxury galas to tropical resorts and neon-lit nightclubs, many of the game’s locations almost feel like stylized postcards from Bond’s early career around the world — an atmosphere that IO Interactive itself has repeatedly described as one of the creative goals behind the game’s globe-trotting presentation.
