Your Mission Starts at Nintendo‘s Booth
Nintendo has confirmed that 007 First Light will be playable on Nintendo Switch 2 at Gamescom 2026, marking the first public hands-on opportunity for the new version.
Visitors can find the demo at Nintendo‘s booth in Hall 9.1 (Booth A10) during Gamescom 2026, which takes place in Cologne, Germany, from August 19 to 23. Conveniently, the booth is located right at the front of Hall 9.1 for visitors entering from the main boulevard.
While IO Interactive will not have its own public booth at this year’s Gamescom, the studio is showcasing the game in partnership with Nintendo.

Young Bond, Old Enough?
If you’re planning to try the demo, there’s one thing to keep in mind: the Nintendo Switch 2 version has not yet received its official German USK rating. Since the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC versions are already classified USK 16, the Switch 2 version is expected to receive the same rating. That means you’ll most likely need a 16+ wristband to access the demo. To avoid an unnecessary wait, it’s best to pick one up at one of the age-check stations before heading to Nintendo‘s booth.
Further Briefings Expected
A recent Amazon Japan listing pointed to a September 16 release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version. With the Switch 2 version making its first public appearance at Gamescom, we expect IO Interactive to use the event to reveal more about the Nintendo Switch 2 version, including platform-specific features and its official release date.
We’ll be on the show floor at Gamescom with hands-on coverage of the Nintendo Switch 2 version, plus all the latest announcements from IO Interactive throughout the event.
