La-La Land Records, in partnership with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, EON Productions, and Universal Music Enterprises, has released a newly remastered and expanded 2-CD edition of John Barry’s original score for the 1969 film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Background
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service marked a turning point for the Bond franchise. With George Lazenby replacing Sean Connery in the role of 007, the production also featured a shift in tone—blending action, romance, and tragedy. Composer John Barry, already known for scoring four earlier Bond films, returned for a fifth time to create what many consider one of his strongest musical contributions to the series.
Release Details
This new edition offers a remastered and expanded presentation of Barry’s full score, newly produced and mixed by Neil S. Bulk and mastered by Doug Schwartz. Source materials include the original ½” 3-track tapes and the 1″ 8-track tapes for Louis Armstrong’s iconic “We Have All The Time In The World.” Two previously unavailable cues are presented in restored stereo, sourced from mono stems and processed by Chris Malone.
The release also includes a reconstruction of the original 1969 soundtrack album, along with a selection of bonus and alternate cues.
