The Flight, composers of the 007: First Light soundtrack, are confirmed to attend this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2026.
Joe Henson and Alexis Smith will appear as panelists in “The Art of the Pitch: How to Actually Land a Job”, taking place on Thursday, March 12 (4:30–5:30 pm) in Room 2003 (West Hall). The session explores a rarely discussed part of game audio: how composers pitch for projects. Rather than highlighting wins alone, the panel examines both successful and failed pitches, focusing on what works — and what doesn’t — when competing for major titles.
For soundtrack fans, the panel lineup also includes Austin Wintory, Stephanie Economou, and Lydia Andrew, bringing perspectives from both independent composers and studio leadership.
The GDC appearance follows a busy year for The Flight. In March 2025, the duo released the soundtrack for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, followed by an appearance at Portsmouth Comic Con 2025 in May and at SoundTrack Cologne in July. In September, they were unveiled as the composers behind 007: First Light, before closing out the year with an on-stage appearance at the Golden Joystick Awards.
At the same time, IO Interactive have yet to put a clear spotlight on the soundtrack itself. Key questions remain open: how much will the score lean modern — and how much will it echo classic Bond textures? Will the title song feature a high-profile vocalist — with names like Lana Del Rey often circulating among fans? Separately, could Lenny Kravitz, who portrays Bawma in 007: First Light, also contribute musically beyond his on-screen role? And once the soundtrack is finally unveiled, the most important question remains: where will I be able to buy it on vinyl?
