Gamescom is always better when you get to share the experience with fellow fans – so this year, we thought: why not get the 007 First Light community together for a drink?
On Friday evening, we’re inviting fellow agents to our first-ever unofficial 007 First Light Fan Gathering in Cologne. We’ll meet at the Legends Bar at the Hyatt Regency Cologne, just across the Rhine from the Koelnmesse, for a relaxed evening of drinks, Bond talk and meeting some of the people behind the names you might already know from the community.
There’s no big programme, no stage and no formalities. And as this is our first gathering, we genuinely have no idea whether five, fifteen or fifty fellow agents might show up. We’re keeping things informal – and everyone is welcome to join us.

When is the 007 First Light Fan Gathering?
Friday, August 28, 2026, starting at 20:15.
We chose Friday evening for a couple of reasons. There are already several major community events taking place earlier during Gamescom week, while Friday also gives fans arriving in Cologne for the weekend a chance to join us.
There’s no need to be there exactly at 20:15 – this is a relaxed get-together rather than an event with a fixed starting programme.

The hotel is located in Cologne-Deutz, just a short walk from the Koelnmesse and right on the banks of the Rhine, overlooking Cologne Cathedral and the Old Town – a great setting to wind down after a busy day at Gamescom.
Coming straight from Gamescom? We’ll have an optional meeting point at 19:45 at the Nintendo booth in Hall 9.1, Booth A10, where 007 First Light is playable on Nintendo Switch 2. From there, we can leave the Koelnmesse together and walk over to the Legends Bar.
Of course, you can also simply meet us directly at the bar from 20:15.
Feeling hungry? Food is available at the Legends Bar, but for a more casual option, Sticky Fingers at the Hyatt Regency Cologne serves street food such as burgers, fries and salads until 21:00 on Friday.
Do I need to register or reserve a seat?
No – just come along!
As this is our first unofficial fan gathering, it’s difficult to predict how many fellow agents will join us. There’s no registration required and we won’t have a dedicated or reserved area at the bar.
Depending on how busy the venue is and how many fans turn up, we may be sitting around a few tables, meeting at the bar or spreading out a little. We’ll simply keep things flexible and make it work on the night.
We’re also currently working on a little something that should make it easier for 007 First Light fans to recognise each other during the evening. More on that soon!
Is this an official IO Interactive event?
No. This is an unofficial fan gathering organised by ExpectingMrBond.com and is not an official IO Interactive or Gamescom event.
The idea is simply to bring together people from the 007 First Light community who happen to be in Cologne at the same time.
Will any 007 First Light developers be there?
First and foremost, this is a community gathering for the fans, by the fans. We’ve already received some lovely words of support from members of the 007 First Light development team, which we really appreciate.
As Friday marks the end of the business week at Gamescom, some developers may already be leaving Cologne by then, so we can’t promise that anyone from the team will be there. But those who are still around on Friday evening are, of course, more than welcome to join us.
