Fans will soon have the chance to meet Patrick Gibson, the actor portraying James Bond in 007 First Light, live and in person. The actor has been announced as a guest at MCM Comic Con Birmingham, bringing the face of the upcoming game’s young 007 to the convention floor.
A Summer Debut for MCM Birmingham
The 2026 edition of MCM Comic Con Birmingham will take place 7–9 August 2026 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. In a notable change, the convention moves to a new summer slot, as MCM Birmingham has traditionally been held in the autumn, often in November, in previous years.
Part of the wider MCM Comic Con series, the event brings together fans of film, television, gaming, comics, anime, and cosplay. Hosted at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) — one of the UK’s largest exhibition complexes, located just outside Birmingham city centre — the convention features large exhibitor halls, stage panels, artist areas, and community meet-ups, regularly attracting tens of thousands of visitors.
Meet Patrick Gibson — The New James Bond

The Irish actor, who turns 31 next week, is known for roles in series such as The OA, Shadow and Bone, and Dexter: Original Sin, where he portrayed a young Dexter Morgan. In 007 First Light, he now steps into the role of a young James Bond at the beginning of his journey toward earning the iconic 00 status.
His appearance at MCM Birmingham — on Saturday and Sunday only — may also mark one of the first opportunities for fans to meet the actor in person since his announcement as the franchise’s next incarnation of 007
Autographs, Photo Ops and Selfies
According to the event listing, Patrick Gibson will offer several ways for fans to meet him during the weekend:
- Autographs: £50.00
- Photo Ops: £60.00
- Selfies: £50.00
For visitors planning to attend MCM Birmingham during Gibson’s appearance, the current entry tickets for those days are listed as:
- Saturday General Entry: £34.00
- Sunday General Entry: £32.00
- 3-Day Weekend Ticket (Friday–Sunday): £67.00
Could a 007 First Light Panel Follow?
If MCM Birmingham wanted to make the experience truly complete for Bond fans, the perfect next step would be a full 007 First Light panel — something that could easily become one of the highlights of the weekend. Just imagine Patrick Gibson on stage alongside cast members such as Priyanga Burford as M, Lennie James as John Greenway, Kiera Lester as Moneypenny, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, or Noémie Nakai as Charlotte Roth. A panel like that would give fans the chance to hear directly from the actors bringing this new Bond world to life.
A similar stage discussion is already scheduled for MCM Comic Con London, taking place 22–24 May 2026 at ExCeL London, where the “Behind the Voice: Hitman” panel will feature David Bateson and Jane Perry speaking about their roles as Agent 47 and Diana Burnwood. Should something comparable be organized for 007 First Light, it would likely draw significant interest from fans attending MCM Birmingham.
