Omega Seamaster in 007: First Light — Closer Look at the Watch and First Lines by Mackenzie as Q

To celebrate James Bond Day, IO Interactive and Omega released a brand-new video showcasing Bond’s latest Omega Seamaster — and for the first time, we get to see the watch up close.

First Look at Q in 007: First Light — Alastair Mackenzie’s Voice and New Music by The Flight

The new video also gives us something fans have been waiting for: our first time hearing Alastair Mackenzie as Q. The scene appears to reprise the moment from the reveal trailer, in which Q presents Bond with the freshly calibrated Omega Seamaster inside MI6’s lab.

In his typically dry, precise tone, Q explains that he has “set the watch to field mode,” noting its variable active range and 360-degree reach angle — the kind of tech talk only Q could make sound effortless.

During the gameplay sequences that follow, we also seem to hear a new track by The Flight, the game’s composers. The piece builds on the atmospheric sound design heard in earlier trailers — layering tension and electronic textures around Bond’s movements as the Seamaster’s functions are demonstrated in action.

Both the snippet of Q’s dialogue and the new music cue are short but welcome — small details that fans appreciated on James Bond Day.

Beyond its sleek design, the watch proves to be one of Bond’s most versatile gadgets yet. The Seamaster in 007: First Light comes with three major abilities that combine stealth, strategy, and spectacle:

1. Scan Mode
This function analyzes Bond’s surroundings, revealing possible interactions within the environment. It can show how to distract guards — and even how many people are watching. With this scanning ability, players can track enemies through walls and doors, adding a tactical layer to infiltration and escape.

2. Hack Watch
Reminiscent of modern espionage tech, this mode allows Bond to hack electronic devices from a distance — triggering distractions or disabling security systems to divert enemies’ attention. In larger set-pieces, it can even take control of complex systems — as seen in the gameplay reveal, where Bond overrides the controls of a cargo aircraft to force it into landing, tilting the plane to send heavy freight sliding across the bay and crushing the guards below.

3. Laser Strap
A direct nod to Bond’s cinematic legacy — most famously seen in GoldenEye – this gadget lets players cut through obstacles like chandeliers with precision, either creating distractions or knocking out enemies as objects come crashing down.. The same beam can also temporarily blind enemies, offering both flair and function in true 007 fashion.

Both Laser Strap and Hack Watch consume energy from Bond’s internal power reserve, which can be replenished by collecting batteries or performing stealthy takedowns.
As seen in the reveal trailer, the Seamaster can even activate the turbo boost on Bond’s Triumph TF 250X motorcycle — although we haven’t yet seen that feature in action on the streets.

The 007: First Light version of the Omega Seamaster isn’t just a digital replica of an existing model — it’s a stylish reinterpretation of the Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph 9900.

In this special in-game edition, the watch adopts a distinct new color scheme. The traditional black-and-grey NATO strap is replaced with a bold orange variant, mirroring the game’s visual identity and giving the timepiece a more tactical, field-ready look.

Omega’s signature wave-pattern dial remains in brushed black ceramic, framed by a bezel that appears either black or dark anthracite, giving the watch a slightly muted, tactical look. Two details make this iteration unmistakably unique: the chronograph’s central seconds hand now glows in vivid orange, and the minute-hour subdial at 3 o’clockfeatures a matching orange ring — a subtle nod to the gold-orange tones of the game’s key art and the colors used in its HUD.

Interestingly, a second variant of the watch also appears in 007: First Light: when Bond equips the Commander Bond uniform skin from the Deluxe Edition, he wears the Seamaster with the classic black-and-grey NATO strap — a direct homage to the Spectre design and a nice continuity touch for longtime fans.

Could Omega Release a Real 007: First Light Special Edition?

While there’s been no official word from Omega, the brand’s long history of Bond-inspired watches — from GoldenEye to No Time To Die — makes a real-world version of this new orange-accented Seamaster an exciting possibility.
Given that the base Chronograph 9900 already costs around €9,200, a dedicated 007: First Light edition could easily command 20–30% more, especially if produced as a limited collector’s model.
