IO Interactive’s upcoming Bond origin story, 007: First Light, has officially passed the 500,000 wishlist milestone on Steam – and it’s celebrating in style. The newly unlocked reward is a unique outfit skin called Savanna Bloom, modeled after the shirt worn by Daniel Craig during the opening chase of Casino Royale.
The outfit was revealed via the game’s official social media channels and a short Steam blog update, giving fans a first look at this cinematic throwback from Bond’s earliest mission.
A Look Back at Casino Royale’s Opening
The Casino Royale chase remains one of the most iconic openings in the Bond franchise. Still rough around the edges, Craig’s newly promoted 007 tracks a bomb-maker through a dusty construction site in Madagascar. The sequence is fast, reckless, and physically intense. Bond jumps between cranes, crashes through plaster walls, and ultimately kicks off an international incident – all while wearing a short-sleeved, floral-patterned shirt that would become unexpectedly memorable.
That shirt now lives on as the Savanna Bloom skin in 007: First Light, giving players a chance to relive the chaos and charm of Bond’s earliest mission.
Bond’s Madagascar Shirt: A Handmade Icon
Unlike Bond’s usual wardrobe staples from Tom Ford, Brioni, or Turnbull & Asser, this particular shirt was not a designer piece. It was tailor-made by the costume department at Academy Costumes in London specifically for the film Casino Royale– never released commercially.
Still, fans have kept it alive. Brands like Royale Filmwear and Magnoli Clothiers have produced high-quality replicas, offering collectors the chance to wear Bond’s gritty elegance. With Orlebar Brown now confirmed as a brand partner for 007: First Light, it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine this look making its way into an official Bond collection someday.
Savanna Bloom is now the second unlockable outfit in the game based on iconic film wardrobe. The first, On Duty, referenced the black turtleneck-and-holster combo made famous by Roger Moore and later used by Daniel Craig in promotional material. IO Interactive is blending original storytelling with respectful nods to Bond’s cinematic past – and fans are noticing.
What Comes Next?
The new reward tier was accompanied by an updated roadmap that outlines all currently planned wishlist rewards:

The final milestone remains a mystery – but given the attention to detail so far, expectations are high. Whether it’s a lore drop, a new mechanic, or another stylish nod to Bond’s past, fans will be watching closely.
There’s even room to speculate that the secret reward could serve as an early teaser for a planned post-launch DLC – something IOI might choose to release for free as a thank-you, should the wishlist momentum hold.
The animated wallpapers tied to the 500K milestone are expected to be released shortly via official IOI and 007 channels.
Why Wishlists Matter
Beyond the excitement of unlockable content, IO Interactive’s push for wishlist milestones serves a clear strategic purpose: wishlists are a key metric in modern game publishing. They affect storefront visibility, algorithmic ranking, and demand forecasting. For licensed games, they also signal early audience interest to rights holders – in this case, EON and MGM.
007: First Light surpassed 500,000 wishlists within two months of its reveal in June 2025 – an impressive figure for a new title within a legacy franchise and no confirmed release date. By comparison, even highly anticipated indie titles often take a year or more to reach that number, and many franchises rely on demos, pre-orders, or aggressive marketing to gain similar traction.
While publishers typically assume that 10–15% of Steam wishlists convert into day-one purchases, IOI’s active milestone campaign suggests far bigger ambitions. The studio may be aiming for 1 to 1.5 million wishlists across all platforms, which would translate to significantly higher sales potential – especially with the global pull of the Bond brand and IOI’s proven track record.
