IO Interactive has officially confirmed its attendance at Gamescom 2025, marking a major milestone not just for the studio, but for fans eagerly awaiting 007: First Light. The Danish developer will have a public booth on the show floor—a rare move, and notably their first full consumer-facing presence since Hitman 2 in 2018.
A Summer Reveal on the Horizon
While IOI hasn’t yet confirmed what exactly it will showcase, the announcement aligns perfectly with previous statements promising a gameplay reveal for 007: First Light “later this summer.”
With Gamescom taking place from August 20–24, 2025, it’s now considered highly likely that IO Interactive will use the show itself as the stage for this reveal—rather than dropping a separate online presentation shortly beforehand. All eyes are now on Cologne for the first real look at gameplay from Bond’s new origin story.
Where to Find IOI at the Show
IO Interactive will be present in both the business and consumer areas at this year’s Gamescom:
- B2C (Public Booth): Hall 8 North, Aisle B, Booth #030
- B2B (Industry Booth): Hall 4.2, Aisle D, Booth #069
The B2C booth in Hall 8 North will be accessible to all Gamescom visitors—no press or industry badge required. As of now, no specific details about IOI’s booth program or on-site content have been revealed. However, considering that the game’s reveal trailer—released in June—was clearly based on alpha-stage footage, it’s reasonable to assume that a playable demo for the public is unlikely. A live gameplay showcase or closed-door presentation seems more plausible at this stage of development.
